Will You Praise Him in Advance–BEFORE You Receive?

What are you willing to do to see your heart’s desire come to fruition?

This week, I’m fasting and praying. And while that may not be the direction God takes you in, there is something else you can do.

Here’s something simple that can help you, no matter the situation you’re facing: Praise Him in Advance!

Praise Him in Advance

Before you see, have, or experience what you’re hoping for, verbally praise and thank God for it now.

Regardless of what you see, don’t let it hinder your praise.

No matter what you feel in your body, don’t let it hinder your praise.

Even if a friend or family member discourages you, don’t let it hinder your praise.

Praising God in advance takes faith. But it also builds your faith. Why? Because faith comes by hearing. As you hear yourself saying thanks to God before your desire is manifested, you are declaring a deeper trust; you’re adding to your faith and increasing your certainty in what God has already declared about that desire.

Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. – Hebrews 11:1

I hope that you’ll always take the “risk” of saying thanks to God before you receive what you’ve asked Him for. It may feel weird or seem counterintuitive, but trust me, praise is powerful. David and Jesus tell us so (Psalm 8:2 and Matthew 21:16). Praising God effectively serves us by silencing the enemy and putting us in a strong and strategic position. Take advantage of that TODAY!

PREPARE for Your Miracle! Here are 7 Helpful Tips

When I worked in a corporate setting, I always tried to be prepared for any situation I found myself in– especially in meetings with my boss and other managers. Even though I couldn’t have been prepared for a season of infertility, I look back on that time knowing that a level of preparedness and expectancy were indeed possible. Not for the infertility itself, but in how to deal with negative situations that arise in life. There’s a framework that can be utilized that incorporates the power of God’s Word.

Now, many years after being done with working for others, I still am wanting to be prepared for challenges that come up in my personal life. And I continue to find that my best method of getting prepared is to consistently go to God’s Word and look for His promises that are applicable to my specific situation.

When you’re in need of a miracle, it’s always good to have a heightened level of expectancy. Expect that miracle! One of the ways to increase expectancy is to PREPARE your mind and heart for that desire/miracle to come to fruition.

7 Tips – P.R.E.P.A.R.E.

As you prepare your heart and mind, here are seven tips to consider:

Praise God in advance. Even before you see the manifestation, assure yourself of His goodness and His willingness to do good for you. Be grateful and tell Him “Thank You” that He has already made a way.

Renew your mind to the truth and power of His Word as it relates to healing, finances, relationships, etc.

Expect God to be faithful and to do what He said. He always keeps His promises. Visualize what you find that His Word says about your circumstances. PREPARE by waiting with faith and patience.

Post His promises where you can see them in your everyday environment. Doing so will help you include His faith-words in your prayers so that you can be more specific in your requests to Him.

Advance toward the miracle by consistently doing small things that align with it. Align your everyday conversational words with the promises in His Word. Confidently speak the powerful name of Jesus to your circumstances.

Repeat God’s promises aloud. Hearing them builds your faith and it continues to point your faith to the miracle. Consider them your personal pep talk!

Expect/anticipate your miracle to manifest how God desires. Wait for it with gratitude in your heart and in your mouth.

WHETHER YOU’RE FACING INFERTILITY, A HEALTH CHALLENGE IN THE MIDST OF COVID-19, OR A STRESSFUL FINANCIAL CONDITION, you can continue to have an expectancy for good things to happen in your life.

Continue to look to Jesus– focus on His love for you.

PREPARE for His greatness to be revealed in your life!

No other gods are like You; only You work miracles.
-Psalm 86:8 CEV

No Matter the Problem, God’s Answer for it is in His Word

God's answer is in the wordGod’s answer to any situation can always be found in His Word.

Do you find that hard to believe? Maybe you’re thinking, “How can an ancient book have the answer to all modern-day problems?” Here’s proof.

I once heard Dr. Bill Winston tell the story of how he had been trying to get an airplane for his growing worldwide ministry.

He had prayed about getting to all the places God was taking him to in a more timely fashion than having to adhere to restrictive commercial airline schedules. He knew that he had the green light from God to pursue a plane for the ministry but nothing seemed to be happening to bring that desire to pass. His prayer practice was to pray Scripture. He knew the word “airplane” was not in the Bible so he didn’t have a specific scripture to stand on. It was beginning to be difficult to have confidence that he had clearly heard from God. But God was giving little nudges as time passed, letting Dr. Winston know that a plane was in his future. One of those nudges included an elderly lady bringing a small airplane part to him! 🙂

God’s Answer

One day during a service at his church, a pastor from a country in Africa was the guest speaker. Right in the middle of the sermon, this pastor took a step back, turned to look at Dr. Winston, and said to him, “Your airplane is in Ecclesiastes 10:20.” He then turned back around and resumed preaching without hesitation or explanation. Dr Winston picked up his Bible and feverishly searched for that passage. He read:

“for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.

This was the promise Dr. Winston needed so he could continue to stand in faith for his airplane (bird)! The scripture even pointed to the purpose of the plane…to carry his voice around the world! He continued to believe for the plane until it manifested.

The Power of the Word

Follow Dr. Winston’s example and find a scripture(s) that specifically relates to your circumstances. Stand on that Word. Express gratitude for that Word and the thing it will bring into your life. Choose to praise God in advance of seeing that thing come to pass.

Don’t give up on what God has promised!

Ridiculous Hope

Romans 4:18 (NLT) tells us how Abraham had ridiculous hope—“Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations.”

Abraham believed God’s promise. Even when there was no reason to hope— Sarah had been barren for decades and he was nearly 100 years old—Abraham kept believing that they would have a child. Their predicament made hope seem nonsensical, even laughable. But Abraham kept hoping.

This wasn’t the first time Abraham had experienced and maintained ridiculous hope. God told him to leave his extended family (very unusual in that culture) and go to a different land, promising him that he would be blessed and become great.  Abraham made a decision to step out and find out. The promises came true as Abraham trusted God.

I think Abraham was an outstanding example of how to have ridiculous hope in the midst of infertility. He opened himself to hear from God. He trusted what God said. So much so, that he changed his name from Abram, which means “exalted father”  , to Abraham, which means “father of many nations.” Imagine hearing other people call him father of multitudes when he and Sarah didn’t even have one child!  Think of the ridicule he must have experienced.  That required having faith in what God had said, trusting that what God had promised would indeed come to pass.

Repeatedly hearing that description of himself , through others calling his name, surely must have built Abraham’s faith (faith comes by hearing–Romans 10:17). There was another factor that increased Abraham’s hope for a child and faith in God’s promise. We learn in Romans 4:20  (YLT) that he “was strengthened in faith, having given glory to God.” The act of praising God, acknowledging His majesty and honoring Him by the words that Abraham spoke, helped to build up his faith.

He had ridiculous hope in God, viewing Him as the only One who could give him all that he desired.

What will it take for you to have ridiculous hope?

Positive Thoughts

Sometimes it’s hard to think positive thoughts, especially in the midst of trying circumstances!

But when we are faced with what seems an insurmountable problem or even sure defeat, that is the most crucial time to think positively. Psalm 8:2 tells us that praise is what silences the enemy so it’s an important part of our strategy in the battles and hardships that we face. It’s not always easy to implement that strategy, especially in the struggle of infertility, but it’s critical to do so in order maintain hope.

Philippians 4:8 [NLT] says, “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

How will you maintain positive thoughts throughout the rest of your day?

Pity Party in the Pit

Pity parties only happen in the pit of despair. I hate it when I stumble into that pit.

The only way I know to shut down the pity party is to focus on the goodness of God, praise Him for all He has done for me  and remind myself that He constantly and intently loves me.

Psalm 40:1-3  NLT

I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.

He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.

He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD.
