Monday’s Marinade – Happy Camping

I’m not much of an outdoorsy kind of person when it comes to camping. Even though I enjoy being outside and taking in the beauty of nature, I don’t necessarily want to sleep in the great outdoors. If I had to sleep in a pup tent, I would not be a happy camper. I’d be worried about insects that sting/bite, creep-crawly bugs invading my personal space, and the possibility of larger animals coming into my camp ground.

But today, God has been showing me how I can be a happy camper when I camp out in His secret place.  I don’t have to worry at all! I would not have to be concerned about stinging and creepy enemies of my body, mind or spirit invading my personal space. In His secret place, there’s safety, provision, and joy! That’s where it gets much easier to be focused on His love for me. With Him, I can rest. With Him I can simply enjoy life, knowing He cares for me and that I’m in good hands.

What about you? Are you a “happy camper”?

I Need Your Input

I am planning a retreat for women who desire some additional encouragement in the midst of infertility.

Your input would be much appreciated if you complete the poll below.  You will be helping me to craft a retreat that better meets your needs.

Please let me know if a time to get away and receive encouragement sounds like something you’d be interested in attending.

Here’s a synopsis of what that time might look like and other details you should know:

  • Gather with a small group of women who are also struggling with infertility but are looking for ways to avoid the pit of despair
  • Enjoy a weekend in an intimate setting at a beautiful natural retreat center in Arizona (tentatively scheduled for September 27-29, 2013)
  • Participate in no-pressure workshops that help you address the spiritual aspect of infertility and develop/maintain a hope-filled focus
  • Take part in activities that will increase your joy, and, most importantly, allow you to spend time alone with God the Father
  • Take advantage of a low registration fee. The cost of workshop materials, activities and 5 meals would be covered in the registration fee of $279.00.

Please note, you would be responsible for your transportation to and from Payson, Arizona.

If you have questions or suggestions, please comment below OR you can email them to info@evangelinecolbert.com

Thank you for your input!

The Season of Waiting

Waiting…

It’s not fun.

In our  American “get it NOW” society, we tend to want our desires to manifest immediately. We don’t like waiting.

But the old saying “good things come to those who wait,” still rings true. Sometimes an incubation period is needed for in order for us to see the desired end result. Seeds don’t produce immediately after they are planted. Farmers and gardeners have to wait.  It takes time before the seed produces the first sprout which forces its way through the soil to bask in the sunlight and continue to grow.

Even God waits. He planted many “Word seeds” through His prophets who predicted a Savior/Messiah would come. But He waited through many generations. He desired for Jesus to come to the earth and save mankind but it took hundreds of years before Jesus was born. Sending Jesus was indeed the BEST thing that God has done for mankind but God patiently waited for the right time!

You may be waiting on a desired result that seems impossible to come through, only because it’s taking so long to manifest. But hang in there! The seed is about to sprout. There is HOPE! You’ll find it in Hebrews 10:35, 36:

“So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.”

I pray that you’ll endure this season of waiting with hope, peace and joy!
