Supernatural Truth

Supernatural Truth. Is there such a thing? The Bible says there is:

“Your word is truth.” John 17:17 [NKJV]

“Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” John 6:63 [NLT]

God’s Word in the Bible is Supernatural Truth. It is eternal and unchanging. God gave us His Truth so we can use it. We are free to use it to bring life and light to our circumstances that seem to be filled with nothing but endless darkness. We use His Word  by believing and speaking it. 

We are enabled by His Truth when we wield it as a sword, using it as an offensive weapon in our struggles [Ephesians 6:17]. God promised that when we believe and speak His Word it would produce prosperous results [Isaiah 55:11]. By believing and speaking His Word, we are speaking words that are empowering, life-giving and situation-changing. Believing and repeatedly speaking His Word brings the essence of HOPE and LIFE to our lives.

Does the struggle with infertility weigh heavily in your life? It did in mine. Believing and speaking the Word help me to become an overcomer in that struggle. I want to encourage you:

Trust in the power of God’s love for you which is embedded in His promises in the Bible.

Believe in the unfailing power of His Word [” Not one word has failed of all the wonderful promises he gave…” ~ 1 Kings 8:56 {NLT}].

Bring life to your situation of barrenness by using God’s Word to tap into His good plan for your life.

Confidently trust the power of Supernatural Truth!

Distractions

My life has had a lot of distractions-some big, some small- that have taken my gaze away from God’s plan and His loving hand. Those distractions have come packaged in a lot of different ways: as boys, when I was a teenaged girl; as extra-curricular activities, when I was a college student; and, as church activities, when I was a young mother.

Each of these distractions, among many others, brought their own set of consequences and kept me from fully enjoying God’s plan for me. Emotional turmoil resulted from the “boys distraction.” Poor grades resulted from the “extra-curricular distraction.” And yes, believe it or not, church activities were a distraction! They slowly began to eat away at the time I spent at home with my husband and children. It was hard to recognize that my schedule was problematic and even harder to make a change to it.

Hebrews 12:2 in the Amplified Bible encourages us to look away from all that will distract us and look to Jesus.  After all, His plan is the BEST for us because it is birthed out of love and is filled with good and perfect gifts [James 1:7].

But in order to keep our eyes on Him, we have to be convinced that Jesus is the answer to our problems at hand and trust that there’s no need to look anywhere else for our solution.

What’s the distraction in your life today that pulls your gaze to anything other than Jesus? No matter how big or small it is, how will you re-focus in order to experience God’s plan?

A Wholesome Tongue

Have you noticed that I frequently mention that we should be mindful of the words we allow to come out of our mouth? That’s because what we say is a difference-maker in our personal world. Our words are powerful! They are vessels that contain and convey life or death. What we say is what we get and it’s our choice to determine what we speak into our lives.

 “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life…” ~~Proverbs 15:4

“Wholesome” is defined as “conducive to general well-being.” So the Bible is showing us that speaking positive, faith-filled words is conducive to our well-being. The opposite is also true: speaking words that are contaminated with negativity leads to unfavorable things.

Is your world tainted with uneasiness and frustration? I encourage you to be more aware of what you say.  Are your words sometimes full of fear, anxiety, and hopelessness? Choose to change them to words with a more positive “vibe”—words of peace, contentment, and hope. I’m sure you’ll see what a difference-maker a wholesome tongue can be!
