I’m glad to have found this blog. Ive been struggling lately. Last week a young teenage girl lost her baby, stillborn. Unfortunately my thoughts have been selfish concerning her, before and after. Thinking… well at least she has a child in heaven waiting on her, what do I have. Being a mother has been increasingly on my mind, it becomes difficult to find things to talk about with my husband. I feel I’ve not been a very good wife lately. Even tjough we both have new jobs and are blessed financially, I can’t help but think of what I dont have, what my heart wants most. How do I moved past this selfishness? The envy? I know I should, Im just not sure what to do about it.
Hoping, thanks for being open about your struggle. I encourage you to make a decision to change your focus. When we focus on the problem, it looms larger in our faces and we feel incapable of doing anything about it. But, when we focus on the One who has the solution, the burden is much lighter and we begin to see the good around us. Jesus always wants us to rest and receive the solution from from Him.
Our marriages always need attention and I hope that you’ll make it a priority to return to being the wife you know your husband needs. If you’re in need of some ideas about how to do that, I have some encouraging tips and practical activities in my book that addresses marriage— “Infertility Sucks! How to Maintain Hope in Your Marriage During Infertility.” I hope you’ll find them helpful. Please know that I’m praying for you.
